Documentation
Everything you need to know before depositing or withdrawing.
How does the protocol work?
You deposit a fixed amount into a pool of smart contracts and receive a secret note. Later, that note lets you withdraw the same amount to another address with a zk-SNARK proof, without revealing which deposit is yours.
What is a note?
A note is a string like tornado-eth-0.1-1-0x… containing the secret and nullifier of your deposit. Anyone holding the note can withdraw the funds: keep it offline and never share it.
What is the anonymity set?
It is the number of identical deposits in a pool. The larger it is, the harder it becomes to link a withdrawal to a deposit. Waiting for more deposits after yours strengthens privacy.
Which networks are supported?
The interface lists 9 networks: Ethereum Mainnet, Binance Smart Chain, Ethereum Classic, Polygon (Matic) Network, Optimism, Arbitrum One, Gnosis Chain, Avalanche Mainnet, Ethereum Sepolia.
What is the compliance tool for?
From your note it generates a report linking your deposit to your withdrawal, so you can prove the origin of your funds to a party of your choice without exposing your other activity.
How do I avoid fraudulent sites?
Malicious copies of the interface exist. Always check the domain, prefer an audited, self-hosted build, and never enter your note on a site you are not sure about.
Does this interface send transactions?
No. This build is an interface demo: it can read your wallet address but never generates notes, proofs or transactions. Displayed statistics are simulated.
